Head of Marketing and Sales – Leading visitor destination 1250513

Red D
Red D are recruiting a Head of Marketing and Sales for one of Ireland’s leading visitor destinations and MICE venues.
This is a senior role for a commercially minded leader — someone with a strong hotel or hospitality background who understands how to drive revenue, lead a team, and shape the public face of a busy, multifaceted venue. You’ll lead the sales and marketing strategy across all areas, from large-scale events and private functions to food, retail, and the overall visitor experience.
This is a rare opportunity to influence both top-line growth and long-term brand positioning. You’ll have full responsibility for marketing activity, sales performance and client relationships, working closely with the wider senior team to deliver results.
Food tourism is a key part of the venue’s future, so you’ll also need to understand how to market a destination with a strong F&B focus. A solid grasp of social media and digital marketing is essential — but this isn’t a digital role, it’s a senior commercial position where people leadership, stakeholder management and business acumen matter most.
The role includes:
Leading the sales and marketing team across all visitor and events revenue streams
Overseeing brand and marketing activity, including digital, social and campaign planning
Driving the MICE business — both B2B and agency — and building strong partnerships
Shaping the venue’s food tourism and visitor positioning through creative and targeted campaigns
Working with F&B, operations and events to ensure cohesive messaging and guest experience
Delivering against revenue targets and managing marketing and sales budgets
Developing new business opportunities while growing repeat and referral business
Representing the venue at trade events, in the media, and with key industry partners
You’ll need:
Strong experience in a senior sales or commercial role within a hotel, venue or hospitality business
A background that includes team leadership, budget management and marketing responsibility
An understanding of food tourism and destination marketing, even if it’s not your current day-to-day
Confidence with social media and digital tools, including content and campaign oversight
Excellent relationship-building skills — you’ll be dealing with partners, agencies, and clients daily
Experience in MICE sales is a distinct advantage
What’s on offer:
This is a visible, senior leadership role in an internationally recognised, award winning venue, offering a strong salary, bonus, and the opportunity to shape the next phase of growth across both the visitor and events business.
We can only consider candidates with full, unrestricted permission to live and work in the EU. UK passport holders are also welcome to apply.
