Based in Donegal, this is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Pastry Chef to join the team of an acclaimed and award-winning Head Chef, recognised as one of Ulster’s finest. The restaurant is known for its elegant, seasonal menus that celebrate Irish ingredients and craft, with a particular focus on balance, creativity and precision.

Red D are recruiting a passionate Junior Pastry Chef who’s eager to learn and grow in a professional kitchen where skill, quality and attention to detail are everything. Working alongside an experienced Head Pastry Chef and an exceptional brigade, you’ll gain invaluable hands-on experience and have real opportunities to progress. About the Role
As Junior Pastry Chef, you’ll support the daily preparation and service of all desserts, breads and petit fours. You’ll learn refined pastry techniques while working with the best local produce, developing your skills in a supportive, learning-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and plate desserts, breads and pastries to a consistently high standard
  • Assist with mise en place, stock rotation and ordering
  • Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards
  • Work closely with the Pastry and wider kitchen team to deliver exceptional quality
  • Contribute ideas to seasonal menus and specials
  • Show initiative, enthusiasm and attention to detail in all areas of your work

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a pastry role or a strong culinary background with a keen interest in pastry
  • Creative, organised and eager to develop professionally
  • Genuine passion for fresh, seasonal Irish ingredients
  • Calm, hardworking and reliable with excellent attention to detail
  • A positive team player with a willingness to learn
