Director of People & Culture | 5-Star Luxury Resort | West of Ireland

Red D are recruiting a Director of People & Culture for an exceptional five-star luxury resort in the West of Ireland.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking People & Culture leader to make a real difference within a luxury hospitality environment where people, service and the overall employee experience are central to the success of the business.

We are looking for someone who genuinely loves working with people, understands the demands of luxury hospitality and has the personality, energy and experience to build a workplace where talented people want to join, develop and stay.

As Director of People & Culture, you’ll be a key member of the resort’s Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the General Manager and departmental leaders to shape the people strategy, strengthen the resort’s culture and ensure that the employee experience reflects the same exceptional standards delivered to guests.

This is a senior leadership role with the opportunity to influence how the resort attracts, develops, engages and retains its people.

The Role

As Director of People & Culture, you’ll take overall responsibility for the resort’s people strategy and HR function, combining strategic leadership with a visible, approachable and hands-on presence throughout the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing the resort’s People & Culture strategy, ensuring it supports the wider business objectives and long-term ambitions.
• Working closely with the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team as a trusted advisor on all people-related matters.
• Creating a positive, inclusive and engaging working environment where employees feel valued, supported and motivated.
• Leading recruitment, talent attraction and retention strategies to bring exceptional people into the business.
• Developing succession planning and career progression opportunities across the resort.
• Championing employee engagement, wellbeing, recognition and internal communication.
• Supporting departmental leaders in building strong, motivated and high-performing teams.
• Overseeing performance management, employee relations, HR policies and employment law compliance.
• Driving leadership development and supporting a culture of continuous learning.
• Using people metrics, employee feedback and workforce planning to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensuring the People & Culture function is proactive, commercially aware and closely connected to the day-to-day operation.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident and commercially minded Director of People & Culture who brings warmth, credibility and strong leadership skills to the role.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Significant senior HR or People & Culture leadership experience, ideally within a five-star hotel, luxury resort or comparable high-end hospitality environment.
• A genuine understanding of luxury hospitality and the importance of exceptional people in delivering an outstanding guest experience.
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation, employee relations and HR best practice.
• Experience developing and implementing people strategies that deliver measurable results.
• A successful track record in recruitment, employee engagement, talent development and retention.
• The confidence and credibility to influence and challenge senior leaders constructively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across every level of the business.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the enthusiasm to introduce new ideas and improvements.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the operational demands of a luxury resort.
• A genuine passion for developing people and helping them achieve their potential.
