Director of Accommodation for a Five Star Luxury Hotel in Dublin

About the Role:

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a prestigious five-star luxury hotel in Dublin, seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Accommodation. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a world-class team dedicated to providing unparalleled guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management: Lead, motivate, and manage the accommodation team to achieve maximum productivity and ensure the highest standards of service and cleanliness in all guest rooms and public areas.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the guest rooms are cleaned and prepared according to Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) and brand standards. Perform daily spot checks of guest rooms and public areas to ensure compliance.
  • Operational Oversight: Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) in line with brand standards. Conduct daily walks of public and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation.
  • Guest Experience: Deliver exceptional care to guests, ensuring their needs are met promptly and efficiently. Act on guest feedback in a timely manner to improve service quality.
  • Staff Training & Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and performance of the accommodation team. Ensure the hotel’s vision and mission are communicated and upheld.
  • Budget & Cost Management: Prepare departmental forecasts and manage budgets to achieve targets. Monitor purchasing and costs, ensuring spending aligns with budgets.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with external suppliers and service providers to ensure the highest quality of products and services.
  • Operational Efficiency: Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the accommodation department. Create realistic action plans to achieve goals and targets.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all accommodation operations comply with health and safety regulations and hotel policies. Maintain a high level of security throughout the hotel.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the hotel achieves Leading Hotels of the World Quality Assurance targets and consistently delivers the highest standards of luxury and quality.
  • Perform departmental audits to ensure LQA standards and brand standards are met in all areas.
  • Report defective materials and equipment via the HUB Maintenance System.
  • Implement new initiatives within the agreed time frame and set personal objectives annually.
  • Maintain a management presence in all departments and provide support where necessary.
  • Drive business results through revenue growth and cost-saving efficiencies.


  • Experience: Proven experience in a senior accommodation or housekeeping role within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards.
  • Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for enhancing the guest experience.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
