Hotel General Manager – Exciting New Opening in Dublin City Centre

About the Role

Red D is delighted to partner with our client to recruit a highly skilled and experienced Hotel General Manager for an exceptional new property set to open in Dublin city centre. This hotel will offer a blend of luxury, comfort, and outstanding service to cater to both business and leisure guests.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the setup and launch of a high-profile hotel. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the pre-opening process and ongoing operations, delivering exceptional guest experiences and achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Opening Phase

  • Lead the pre-opening process, coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure readiness for launch.
  • Set up operational departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with HR to recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team capable of delivering world-class service.
  • Establish operational procedures, service standards, and health and safety protocols.
  • Work with the marketing team to create and execute a launch strategy.
  • Implement essential software and management tools for efficient hotel operations.

Post-Opening Phase

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring seamless functionality across all departments.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive occupancy, revenue, and guest satisfaction.
  • Analyse business performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Manage budgets and financial performance, ensuring profitability without compromising quality.
  • Lead, train, and inspire a dedicated team to exceed guest expectations.
  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with guests, fostering loyalty and positive reviews.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Hotel General Manager or in a senior hospitality management role.
  • A track record of successful pre-opening and /or operational leadership in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and driving profitability.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and industry best practices.
  • A passion for creating outstanding guest experiences.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Previous experience in opening a new hotel is an advantage.
