Red D are recruiting a Head of Sales & Events for a luxury resort in Co. Kildare. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced hospitality sales professional to lead a talented team across corporate, MICE, golf and social event segments within one of Ireland’s most renowned destinations.

About the Role
As Head of Sales & Events, you’ll oversee all aspects of reactive sales and event management, ensuring a seamless guest experience from initial enquiry to execution. You’ll drive revenue growth, lead and develop a high-performing team, and collaborate closely with senior management to deliver on commercial goals. This position requires a confident leader with strong organisational, communication and relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Sales & Marketing in the daily operation of the sales function to maximise revenue and profitability
  • Lead and manage the MICE, golf, events and wedding sales teams
  • Oversee all sales enquiries, conversion and client follow-up activity
  • Host client site inspections, familiarisation trips and networking events
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all bookings are properly contracted and communicated internally
  • Manage the handover process between the sales and events teams, ensuring operational excellence
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to drive repeat business
  • Prepare group pace, forecast and performance reports for review
  • Develop and manage catering sales budgets and strategies
  • Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor activity and local demand opportunities
  • Set and monitor performance goals for the team, addressing challenges and encouraging success
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and team development in collaboration with HR
  • Work with management to refine SOPs, strengthen systems and align with the overall resort strategy

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in an event sales or senior sales management role within the hospitality sector
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Organised, strategic and commercially aware with strong attention to detail
  • A confident, professional leader who motivates and supports their team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
