Red D

Red D are recruiting a Store Manager for a new-build, premium forecourt opening in late April. This is a flagship operation with very high footfall, a top-tier brand, and a strong retail, deli and unique premium brand fast food offer, supported by additional ancillary revenue streams.

This Store Manager role offers the opportunity to be involved from the ground up. The successful candidate will join during the pre-opening phase, with the core management team onboarding from mid-March, playing a key role in setting standards, building the team and embedding the operating culture ahead of launch.

This role is based in County Wexford and will particularly suit candidates living in County Wexford or County Wicklow, given the hands-on nature of the role and the demands of a new opening.

The role

As Store Manager, you will take full responsibility for the opening and ongoing operation of a high-volume, premium forecourt environment. Reporting to the Store Owner and Operations Manager, you will lead a structured management team including an Assistant Manager, Trainee Manager, Department Managers, Supervisors and Sales Assistants.

This Store Manager position will suit someone who enjoys pace, complexity and visibility, and who understands how to run a business where retail, food, compliance and customer flow all matter.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the pre-opening phase across retail, deli and unique premium brand fast food, ensuring teams are trained and ready for launch
  • Set and maintain high customer service standards across a multi-offer, high-footfall environment
  • Take ownership of day-to-day operations and standards across the entire site
  • Recruit, lead, coach and performance-manage the management team and wider store team
  • Drive sales, margin, waste control and KPIs across all revenue streams
  • Ensure food safety, HACCP and health and safety compliance from day one
  • Manage stock control, overheads and stocktakes in line with budget
  • Deliver excellent merchandising, presentation and layout flow across the site
  • Handle customer issues professionally and in line with store policy
  • Manage rosters, attendance, annual leave and HR records accurately
  • Build a positive, accountable team culture in a demanding, fast-paced environment

Experience and skills required

  • Minimum three years’ experience in a senior retail management role, ideally within forecourt, grocery or food-led retail
  • Proven experience managing high-footfall operations with food at the core
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to read, interpret and act on reports
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Confident decision-maker with strong organisation and delegation skills
  • High standards around food quality, service and compliance
  • Comfortable being highly visible and hands-on, particularly during the opening phase

Why this role stands out

This Store Manager role offers the opportunity to launch and lead a premium, new-build forecourt with a strong brand, serious footfall and a distinctive fast food offer. It’s a senior, site-critical role suited to someone who wants responsibility, scale and the chance to set standards properly from day one.

We can only consider candidates with full, unrestricted permission to live and work in the EU. UK passport holders are also welcome to apply.
