Red D are recruiting a General Manager for a contract role leading a large, well-established visitor destination in Co. Mayo with a strong leisure and food and beverage offering at its core.
This is a broad, hands-on General Manager contract role with full responsibility for a busy, multi-layered operation that includes multiple food and beverage outlets, leisure experiences, retail and a range of visitor attractions.
You’ll be stepping into a role with real scale, strong teams already in place and plenty of opportunity to make an immediate impact.
This contract role is suited to someone who can come in, take ownership quickly and deliver results from day one.
The Role
This General Manager role is about leading from the front.
You’ll oversee the full operation, with a particular focus on a substantial food and beverage business alongside a strong leisure offering that drives visitor engagement and repeat business.
You’ll ensure all areas work together smoothly, delivering a consistent, high-quality experience while maintaining commercial performance.
You’ll be visible on the ground, working closely with your teams, making decisions in real time and keeping standards where they need to be.
Key Responsibilities
• Full operational responsibility across food and beverage, leisure, retail and visitor experiences
• Lead and support department heads and large frontline teams
• Drive commercial performance across multiple revenue streams
• Manage budgets, labour costs and overall profitability
• Ensure a consistent, high-quality experience across all customer touchpoints
• Oversee compliance, health and safety and operational standards
• Work closely with senior stakeholders on performance and planning
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and drive revenue
The Person
The successful candidate will be an experienced General Manager or senior operations leader who is comfortable managing scale, pace and complexity.
They will bring strong experience across food and beverage, ideally alongside leisure or visitor-focused environments, and a hands-on leadership style.
This role will suit someone coming from a high-volume destination, resort, visitor attraction or multi-outlet hospitality environment.
