Head Chef | Award-Winning Sustainable Café | Mostly Daytime Hours | Cork City

Red D are recruiting a Head Chef for a very busy, award-winning sustainable food café in Cork City, serving local, seasonal and organic food.

This is a great opportunity for a Head Chef who loves busy service, excellent ingredients and leading a kitchen team that genuinely cares about standards, creativity and sustainability.

You’ll work closely with the owners across day-to-day kitchen operations, menu development, catering and events. The business has built a strong reputation for seasonal food, great produce and a positive kitchen culture.

The role would suit a Head Chef looking for mostly daytime hours while still working in a fast-paced professional kitchen at a very high standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Driving consistency and standards during busy service
• Overseeing menu development and seasonal planning
• Managing catering and events operations
• Leading, training and mentoring the kitchen team
• Managing kitchen organisation, prep and systems
• Overseeing HACCP, stock control and waste management
• Working closely with local suppliers and producers
• Supporting sustainability and zero-waste initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing busy service
• Experience with menu planning, catering and events
• Excellent organisation and kitchen management skills
• Strong HACCP and kitchen systems knowledge
• Passion for local, seasonal and sustainable food
• Calm, hands-on approach with a positive leadership style
• Someone who enjoys being part of a hardworking, close-knit team
