Restaurant Manager | Five-Star Hotel | Northern Ireland

Salary: £35,000 + Service Charge

Red D are recruiting a Restaurant Manager for a leading five-star hotel in Northern Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Restaurant Manager who enjoys being on the floor, leading from the front and creating a restaurant experience where the food, service and attention to detail are consistently at a high level.

The restaurant has a strong reputation for quality dining with a real emphasis on excellent produce, polished service and memorable guest experiences. The Restaurant Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation, leading and developing the team while maintaining strong commercial and service standards.

This role would suit an experienced Restaurant Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager ready for the next step or a strong food and beverage professional coming from a quality four or five-star hotel or high-end restaurant environment.

The Role

As Restaurant Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading the day-to-day operation of a high-quality hotel restaurant
  • Being highly visible on the floor and ensuring guests receive consistently excellent service
  • Leading, motivating and developing the restaurant team
  • Creating a positive, professional working environment with strong communication and teamwork
  • Managing service standards across breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner
  • Working closely with the kitchen and wider hotel management team to deliver a consistently strong food and beverage experience
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and the overall financial performance of the restaurant
  • Managing labour and resources effectively in line with business levels
  • Maintaining effective stock management, ordering and controls
  • Recruiting, inducting, training and developing team members
  • Coaching the team to build product knowledge, confidence and service skills
  • Handling guest feedback professionally and resolving issues effectively
  • Ensuring the restaurant, equipment and service areas are maintained and presented to an excellent standard
  • Maintaining all required health, safety, hygiene, licensing and operational standards
  • Keeping up to date with restaurant trends, competitor activity and opportunities to develop the guest experience
  • Working closely with other Heads of Department and contributing to the wider operation of the hotel
  • Undertaking Duty Manager responsibilities when required

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Restaurant Manager who understands what excellent restaurant service looks like and, equally importantly, knows how to get the best from a team.

You should have:

  • Restaurant management or strong supervisory experience within a quality hotel or restaurant environment
  • A genuine interest in food, wine and hospitality
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop people
  • Excellent attention to detail and a natural presence on the restaurant floor
  • A warm, confident approach to guest service
  • Good commercial awareness, including an understanding of labour, stock control, costs and restaurant profitability
  • The ability to manage busy services while maintaining standards
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with the kitchen, senior management and other hotel departments
  • Flexibility to work across a seven-day operation, including evenings and weekends

Five-star experience would be an advantage, although we are equally interested in candidates coming from excellent four-star hotels or high-quality independent restaurants where service and food standards are comparable.

Hours & Package

Salary: £35,000 + Service Charge

This is a full-time management position working approximately 45 hours per week, excluding breaks, across five days out of seven.

As a senior operational role, flexibility will be required across days, evenings and weekends.

The overall package also includes:

  • Service charge in addition to the £35,000 basic salary
  • Meals while on duty
  • Hotel accommodation & restaurant discounts
  • Holiday entitlement which increases with service
  • Birthday leave
  • Health and wellbeing benefits
  • Training and career development opportunities

Why Consider This Restaurant Manager Role?

This is an opportunity to take responsibility for a restaurant within a high-quality five-star hotel environment where food and service are an important part of the overall guest experience.

For an ambitious Assistant Restaurant Manager, it could be a strong opportunity to move into their first Restaurant Manager position. For an established Restaurant Manager, it offers the chance to lead a quality operation within a larger hotel group with further career development opportunities.

We can only consider candidates with full, unrestricted permission to live and work in the UK.
Candidates must already have the appropriate UK work permission for this position.
