Human Resources Manager | 4-Star Hotel | Co. Wexford

Red D are recruiting an experienced, proactive and enthusiastic Human Resources Manager for a lovely four-star hotel in Co. Wexford.

This is a great opportunity for a people-focused HR professional who enjoys taking the initiative, getting involved in the day-to-day operation and making a positive difference to the people they work with.

Working closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team, the Human Resources Manager will take responsibility for the HR function, supporting managers, developing employees and helping to create a positive, engaging workplace culture.

We’re looking for someone with energy, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in people. Someone who builds relationships easily, brings ideas to the table and takes a hands-on approach to supporting the team.

The Role

As Human Resources Manager, you will lead the HR function, balancing the day-to-day needs of the hotel with employee development, engagement and longer-term people planning.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing recruitment and selection across all departments
• Overseeing employee onboarding and induction
• Advising and supporting department managers on employee relations, performance management and HR matters
• Managing disciplinary, grievance and investigation processes in accordance with Irish employment legislation
• Taking a proactive approach to employee engagement, recognition and retention
• Identifying training needs and coordinating learning and development programmes
• Supporting management development, succession planning and internal career progression
• Introducing ideas and initiatives that encourage teamwork, communication and employee wellbeing
• Maintaining a visible and approachable presence throughout the hotel
• Promoting a positive, inclusive and supportive working environment
• Maintaining accurate employee records, contracts and HR documentation
• Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, company policies and statutory requirements
• Overseeing employment permit administration and related documentation
• Supporting payroll administration, wage budgets and time and attendance processes
• Preparing HR reports and management information
• Working closely with department managers on workforce planning and employee retention
• Identifying opportunities to improve HR policies, systems and procedures

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic Human Resources Manager who enjoys being part of a busy hospitality environment and brings a positive, people-focused approach to their work.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of three years’ experience in a Human Resources Management role within hospitality
• A relevant third-level qualification in Human Resource Management, Business or a related discipline
• CIPD qualification, or working towards it, would be an advantage
• Strong working knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practice
• Experience managing employee relations, recruitment, performance management and training
• A proactive approach, with the confidence to take initiative, suggest improvements and follow ideas through
• An enthusiastic, engaging personality with a genuine interest in people and employee development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at every level
• A professional, approachable manner and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Experience using HR systems and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and support managers in a busy operational environment
