Director of Human Resources – Five Star Luxury Resort

Red D are recruiting an exceptional Director of Human Resources to lead the  HR team and drive strategic initiatives of a multi-award-winning Five Star Luxury Resort. This role involves both hands-on management and strategic guidance, providing support and leadership to our established HR team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day HR/IR matters, bridging management and employee relations at the property level.
  • Ensure property-wide compliance with company policies, employment law, and other relevant legislation.
  • Provide advice and coaching to HODs and the Management Team on HR and related issues.
  • Manage all aspects of the HR function, including recruitment, performance management, absence management, conflict resolution, grievance management, and more.
  • Conduct or coordinate investigations and disciplinary hearings, and prepare defenses for claims.
  • Manage the HR function and all aspects of the employment lifecycle, from recruitment and selection to onboarding and beyond.
  • Implement and maintain robust work systems and processes for smooth HR operations.
  • Lead recruitment, selection, development, and performance management processes.
  • Develop and promote the resort as an employer brand of choice and build relationships with relevant third parties.
  • Identify, analyze, and deliver training and learning programs.
  • Manage compensation and benefits, budgetary knowledge, and expense management.
  • Foster a harmonious, respectful, and productive work environment, promoting team spirit and flexibility.
  • Participate actively in operations and rosters, staying aware of operational issues and commercial factors affecting HR.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership HR roles at a senior level, with strong strategic and operational capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of Irish employment law.
  • Proven experience in driving change and transformational programs.
  • Skilled in building partnerships, coaching leaders, and acting as a trusted advisor.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in HR leadership within a hotel environment.
  • CIPD Chartered Member status.
  • Experience working with diverse teams and driving D&I initiatives.
  • Familiarity with employer branding strategies.
