Red D are recruiting an experienced and energetic General Manager to lead the overall event and hospitality operations at a prestigious location in Dublin. This exciting role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including overseeing numerous food & beverage outlets, managing a private Members’ Club, and executing large events and conferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive event strategies to drive revenue growth and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Team Management: Lead a team of event coordinators, sales professionals, and hospitality team members to deliver exceptional events.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of catering, audiovisual, and technical services for events.
  • Client & Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners to drive business growth and improve services.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for events, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to stay ahead of industry trends and competitors, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Operational Procedures: Develop and implement operational procedures to ensure efficient and effective event execution.
  • Work Culture: Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols, as well as local health and sanitation regulations.

Financial & Reporting:

  • Budget Development: Create and track budgets for events, identifying areas for cost savings and making adjustments as needed.
  • Sales & Market Analysis: Analyse sales data and market trends to forecast revenue and make informed decisions about pricing, staffing, and resources.
  • Pricing Strategies: Develop and implement pricing strategies, considering competition, market conditions, and client needs.
  • Expense Management: Oversee the management of event-related expenses, including labour costs, equipment rentals, and catering supplies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit financial reports to senior management and clients, including event profitability reports, revenue forecasts, and budget variance analyses.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure favourable pricing and terms.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and policies, including tax reporting, accounting standards, and internal controls.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of success in managing large-scale events and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of event operations, hospitality standards, and customer service principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Hands-on, proactive, motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, supporting the Senior Management Team.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Flexible in a constantly evolving environment with good proactive problem-solving skills.
