Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of People & Culture to lead the HR function for a world class hospitality destination in the West of Ireland. This senior management role is pivotal in driving innovative growth and positive transformational change while ensuring operational efficiencies and delivering best-in-class guest experiences. The Head of People & Culture will work closely with all departments to cultivate a work environment that supports employee wellbeing, fosters an inclusive culture, and enables the delivery of exceptional guest services that exceed the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultural Development: Shape the organisation’s culture to reflect its values and mission by fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment. Implement initiatives that enhance employee wellbeing and engagement to create a positive workplace.
  • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop, lead, and execute a strategic HR plan that supports the establishment of a performance-driven culture. Focus on continuous training and development to ensure all objectives and targets are met.
  • Performance Management: Build a culture of high performance across the organisation with oversight and continuous development of the Performance Review & Development framework. Maximise leadership capability to motivate and lead teams to innovate, improve processes, and exceed performance targets.
  • HR Policy and Compliance: Manage HR policies, employee relations, recruitment, benefits, training, and compliance to meet best industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Operational Excellence: Set high standards for operational excellence, model accountability, integrity, and ethical behavior throughout the organisation.
  • Employee Engagement: Actively contribute to the development of a robust culture by role modeling values and behaviors that drive employee engagement and strengthen organisational commitment and retention.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills with a proactive approach to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Energetic, approachable, and personable with the highest standards of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • A growth mindset, accessible to team members, and willing to listen, assist, and support.
  • Ability to plan, write, and direct the development and maintenance of training programs for all levels of staff.
  • Proven experience in introducing new ideas to improve employee engagement and organisational culture.
  • Organised, innovative, and results-driven with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

  • A degree or master’s in HR or a related discipline; CIPD qualification is desirable.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in a senior HR management role.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to contribute to the overall organisational strategy.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry and familiarity with the Alkimii system are strong advantages.
  • Excellent attention to detail, commercial awareness, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
