Red D are recruiting an Assistant Financial Controller for a respected and growing Irish hotel group.
This is a permanent, full-time role based in the West Dublin area. We’re looking for someone with strong hotel finance experience who is confident with month-end and year-end close, and ready to step into a hands-on, commercially aware role within a high-performing finance team.
About the Assistant Financial Controller role
As Assistant Financial Controller, you’ll support the delivery of accurate, timely financial reports across a cluster of well-established properties. You’ll play a key part in the month-end close process, help manage audits, maintain effective internal controls, and support operational teams with insightful reporting and analysis.
This is a busy, visible role where strong systems skills, attention to detail, and a good grasp of hotel operations are essential.
What you’ll be doing:
- Posting and reconciling transactions across the general ledger
- Preparing and reviewing monthly and quarterly financial statements
- Managing accruals, prepayments, and period-end adjustments
- Leading balance sheet reconciliations with strong supporting documentation
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
- Assisting with year-end close, audits, and tax returns
- Producing financial reports with variance analysis
- Supporting process improvements and systems upgrades
- Collaborating with colleagues across finance and hotel operations
What we’re looking for:
- Accounting qualification (or part-qualified) with hotel finance experience
- Experience in general ledger accounting and financial close processes
- Advanced Excel and good working knowledge of accounting software (Sage X3 and Procure Wizard experience is a plus)
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and internal controls
- Highly organised, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
