Red D are recruiting a Meeting & Events Executive (Maternity Cover) for a beautiful four-star hotel in Co. Laois.
This is a great opportunity for a Meetings & Events Executive with strong attention to detail, excellent admin skills and a real focus on service. You’ll join a collaborative Sales & Events team in a quality hotel known for hosting high-end corporate events, private functions and group business.
This is a maternity cover contract for someone who thrives on being busy, organised and guest-focused. You’ll take ownership of enquiries, support the sales team, coordinate events from start to finish, and work closely with all operational departments to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day.
You’ll need to be confident with systems, passionate about great service and happy to work Monday to Friday in a very team-driven environment. Experience with Opera and a solid understanding of MICE business in a hotel setting is essential.
What you’ll be doing:
- Responding to all Meeting & Events enquiries, preparing proposals and contracts
- Handling all admin tasks for the department including system input, call logs and reporting
- Liaising with clients pre-event and post-event to ensure excellent service and retention
- Upselling hotel services and packages across events, food & beverage and leisure
- Working closely with Sales, Reservations, Front Office and F&B teams
- Ensuring all function sheets are accurate, detailed and shared in advance
- Supporting weekly function meetings and internal planning calls
- Carrying out hotel show rounds and site visits when required
- Following up on feedback, resolving issues and supporting the delivery of high standards
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in a Meeting & Events role in a 4-star hotel or similar
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Friendly, confident communication style with a strong service mindset
- A good understanding of the full event cycle, from enquiry to delivery
- Proficiency in Opera, Microsoft Office and (ideally) Mind-A-Client
- A team player who’s happy to work across departments and stay solutions-focused
- Someone reliable, positive and fully engaged in the guest and client experience
This Meeting & Events Executive role is full-time, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
