Red D

Red D are recruiting a General Manager for a stylish, design-led 4-star hotel in Cork City.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a confident, hands-on General Manager who understands what makes a hotel feel sharp, modern and well-run. You’ll lead a strong team, drive standards, focus on the guest experience and deliver on the commercial side, without losing the personality and detail that a design-led property needs.

The successful General Manager will be visible on the floor, calm under pressure, great with people and focused on consistency across bedrooms, public areas and food and beverage.

The Role

As General Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operation and performance of the hotel, leading all departments while keeping standards high and service polished.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full hotel operation with a strong focus on quality, service and consistency
  • Set standards across bedrooms, public areas and food and beverage, ensuring everything feels sharp and guest-ready
  • Manage and develop the leadership team, building a positive culture and clear accountability
  • Drive revenue performance across rooms, food and beverage and events
  • Own budgeting, forecasting and KPI delivery including labour and cost control
  • Oversee guest satisfaction, review management and complaint handling with a solutions-focused approach
  • Ensure compliance across health and safety, HR and operational procedures
  • Work closely with ownership and senior stakeholders, reporting on performance, priorities and improvements
  • Recruit, train and retain a strong team with a focus on standards and service delivery

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or an experienced Deputy GM / Hotel Manager ready to step up
  • Strong understanding of both Rooms and Food and Beverage
  • Commercially capable with experience managing payroll, budgets and KPIs
  • High standards and strong attention to detail, especially in a design-led environment
  • Confident, professional communication style and strong relationship-building skills
  • A hands-on leader who takes ownership and sets the tone on the floor

We can only consider candidates with full, unrestricted permission to live and work in the EU. UK passport holders are also welcome to apply.
