Red D are recruiting a Deputy General Manager for a luxury hotel in Belfast. This Deputy General Manager role is a senior leadership position within a well-established property known for strong corporate, leisure and events business.

The Deputy General Manager will assume day-to-day responsibility for the efficient operation of all departments, stepping fully into the lead role when required. This is a visible, hands-on position requiring commercial awareness, operational control and consistent leadership across the business.

The Role

As Deputy General Manager, you will:

• Oversee daily operations across all departments
• Maintain a strong presence on the floor, setting and protecting standards
• Work closely with the General Manager on revenue strategies and sales initiatives
• Monitor costs, payroll, expenses, stock control and wastage
• Identify operational risks in advance and plan accordingly
• Support Heads of Department with recruitment, training and team development
• Conduct appraisals and manage performance processes in line with HR best practice
• Analyse operational performance against agreed standards and address gaps
• Report clearly on risks and commercial opportunities

This Deputy General Manager role requires someone who understands that standards are maintained through structure, consistency and accountability, not good intentions.

The Ideal Deputy General Manager

The successful Deputy General Manager will bring:

• Senior management experience within a four- or five-star hotel
• Strong knowledge across Rooms and Food and Beverage operations
• Experience contributing to revenue growth and commercial planning
• Confidence leading multi-department teams
• A disciplined approach to training and performance management
• Solid understanding of HR processes including disciplinary and attendance procedures
• Decisive leadership and the ability to stand over decisions
