Red D are recruiting a Maintenance Manager for a beautiful hotel in the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to take responsibility for the maintenance and engineering function of this leading property.
The Maintenance Manager will oversee the upkeep, safety and operational efficiency of the property including guest accommodation, spa facilities, public areas and grounds. This role suits a hands on Maintenance Manager or experienced Maintenance Supervisor who enjoys solving problems, leading a team and keeping a busy hotel running smoothly behind the scenes.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, the Maintenance Manager will ensure the property is maintained to exceptional standards while supporting day to day hotel operations.
The Role
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the hotel, spa facilities, accommodation and grounds are maintained safely and efficiently. This role combines technical expertise, team leadership and strong organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
– Oversee maintenance across guest accommodation, spa facilities, public areas, plant rooms and grounds
– Ensure all systems, equipment and building infrastructure operate safely and efficiently
– Respond quickly and effectively to maintenance issues and breakdowns
Planned Preventative Maintenance
– Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules
– Carry out regular inspections across the property
– Maintain clear records of maintenance work, inspections and compliance checks
Team Leadership
– Lead and support the maintenance team
– Coordinate contractors and external service providers
– Ensure work is completed safely and to the required standards
Compliance and Safety
– Ensure compliance with health and safety, fire safety and statutory regulations
– Maintain plant, systems and buildings in line with regulatory requirements
Projects and Improvements
– Support refurbishment and improvement projects
– Work closely with hotel departments to minimise disruption to guests
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor with strong technical knowledge and a practical approach to problem solving.
You will bring:
– Experience as a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager or Assistant Maintenance Manager within a hotel or large property preferred
– Strong technical knowledge across electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general building maintenance
– Experience working with Building Management Systems
– Confidence managing contractors and maintenance schedules
– Strong organisational and problem solving ability
– A solid understanding of health and safety and statutory compliance
– Trade qualification or technical certification is advantageous
