Red D are recruiting an Assistant Financial Controller for a leading hotel and resort in the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who wants to develop their career within hotel finance while working closely with an experienced Financial Controller and senior leadership team.
The Assistant Financial Controller will support the financial management of the hotel, helping to ensure accurate reporting, strong financial controls and clear commercial insight across the business. This is a hands-on role where the Assistant Financial Controller will work closely with operational departments, contributing to the financial performance and smooth running of the hotel.
The Assistant Financial Controller position will suit someone who enjoys being involved in the detail, understands the pace of a busy hospitality operation and wants to grow.
The Role – Assistant Financial Controller
The Assistant Financial Controller will support the Financial Controller in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and P&L reporting
- Supporting payroll processes and monitoring departmental labour costs
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls
- Assisting with revenue reporting and financial analysis across the hotel
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Preparing financial reports and assisting with audits and compliance requirements
- Working closely with operational managers to ensure financial procedures are followed
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, controls and financial processes
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate for this Assistant Financial Controller role will bring strong finance experience and an interest in hospitality operations.
You may currently be working as:
- Assistant Financial Controller
- Hotel Accountant
- Finance Supervisor
- Accounts Manager within a hotel or hospitality business
You will likely have:
- A recognised accounting qualification or being part-qualified is desirable
- Previous experience within hotel or hospitality finance preferred
- Strong analytical ability and excellent attention to detail
- Confidence working with department heads and operational managers
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A proactive approach and a genuine interest in developing a career in hotel finance
