Red D are recruiting a Head Pastry Chef for one of Cork’s most high-profile hospitality venues.

This is a rare opportunity for a talented Head Pastry Chef to join a kitchen known for exceptional standards, creativity and attention to detail, while also offering something genuinely difficult to find in hospitality: predominantly daytime hours, Monday to Friday.

We’re looking for a Head Pastry Chef with serious pastry credentials, strong leadership skills and a real passion for quality ingredients, precision and presentation. The successful Head Pastry Chef will lead the pastry offering across a busy, high-end operation, working closely with an experienced senior culinary team.

This role would suit someone coming from a luxury hotel, premium restaurant or high-end production kitchen who still wants to work at a very high level, but with far better work-life balance.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading and managing the pastry kitchen day to day
  • Creating and developing seasonal pastry, dessert and baked offerings
  • Maintaining exceptional consistency, presentation and quality standards
  • Managing preparation and production for service and events
  • Working closely with senior chefs on menu planning and innovation
  • Training and mentoring junior pastry chefs and kitchen team members
  • Managing HACCP, food safety and kitchen organisation to the highest standards
  • Ensuring all pastry sections are fully prepared and organised for service

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Head Pastry Chef or Senior Pastry Chef in a high-end kitchen
  • Luxury hospitality or premium restaurant experience is highly desirable
  • Excellent pastry, baking and dessert skills
  • Strong organisational and leadership ability
  • Calm, professional approach in a busy kitchen environment
  • High attention to detail and pride in presentation
  • Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety standards
  • Passion for seasonal produce and high-quality ingredients
