Red D are recruiting a Private Family Cook for a private Irish country estate.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner for the family, along with snacks and children’s meals as required
- Creating varied, seasonal menus that adapt to the family’s schedule
- Preparing healthy, vegetable-led meals using fresh, high-quality ingredients
- Catering for both pescatarian and non-pescatarian family members
- Accommodating dietary requirements, allergies and guest preferences when required
- Baking fresh breads, scones, cakes, biscuits and other homemade treats
- Keeping the pantry well stocked with homemade soups, stocks, sauces and preserves where appropriate
- Planning and preparing family dinners and informal entertaining for guests
- Working with seasonal produce from the estate’s vegetable garden and contributing ideas for future planting
- Managing food purchasing, supplier relationships and household food budgets
- Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, organisation and food safety
- Minimising waste through thoughtful menu planning and stock management
- Working closely with the housekeeping team to ensure the smooth running of the household
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Private Family Cook, Private Chef, Estate Cook, Chalet Cook or Yacht Cook is preferred, although candidates from luxury hospitality backgrounds with the right skills and a genuine passion for family-style cooking will also be considered
- Strong knowledge of healthy, seasonal family cooking using fresh, high-quality ingredients
- Excellent baking skills, including breads, scones, cakes, biscuits and other homemade treats
- Experience preparing meals for both everyday family life and larger gatherings
- Confidence managing a kitchen independently, including menu planning, purchasing and stock control
- A warm, discreet and trustworthy approach with a strong respect for privacy
- Highly organised with excellent planning and time management skills
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to changing family schedules
- Calm under pressure with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working around children, family members and guests
- A genuine passion for producing wholesome, flavourful food that people look forward to eating every day
