Red D Recruitment are recruiting an experienced Assistant Manager for a busy and highly successful Irish bar and restaurant in Switzerland.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious hospitality professional who enjoys a fast-paced food and beverage environment and thrives on leading teams, delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining consistently high operational standards.
Working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, the successful Assistant Manager will play a key role in the day-to-day operation, supporting service, developing the team and ensuring every guest enjoys an outstanding experience.
The Role
As Assistant Manager, you will:
- Support the Food & Beverage Manager in the daily operation of the venue
- Lead service across all food and beverage operations, ensuring exceptional standards at all times
- Lead by example on the floor, motivating and supporting the team throughout every service
- Ensure guests receive warm, professional and efficient service that exceeds expectations
- Monitor guest feedback and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships with customers by maintaining a visible presence throughout the venue
- Handle guest queries and resolve issues professionally and efficiently
- Recruit, train, coach and develop team members to achieve consistently high performance
- Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are implemented, maintained and regularly reviewed
- Work closely with the management team on menu development, promotions and operational initiatives
- Support the wider management team whenever required to ensure the smooth running of the business
About You
The successful Assistant Manager will have:
- At least two years’ experience in an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager or similar leadership role
- Strong operational experience within a busy gastro pub, Irish bar or late-night venue
- Excellent knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits and craft beer
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- The ability to remain calm, confident and professional under pressure
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- A hands-on management style with a willingness to lead from the floor
- Full eligibility to live and work in Switzerland
