Red D are recruiting an experienced Sous Chef for a small, upmarket venue in Co. Kildare.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented chef who enjoys cooking with quality seasonal ingredients in a professional kitchen where standards matter. Working closely with the Head Chef, the Sous Chef will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, supporting the team, maintaining consistency and helping to deliver an excellent dining experience.

The successful candidate will be hands-on, organised and passionate about food, with the ability to lead by example while maintaining a calm and positive kitchen environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the Head Chef with the daily operation of the kitchen.
• Leading the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Preparing and presenting high-quality dishes to consistently high standards.
• Supervising, motivating and developing the kitchen team.
• Maintaining food safety, HACCP and hygiene standards.
• Assisting with stock control, ordering and minimising waste.
• Helping develop seasonal menus and daily specials.
• Ensuring excellent consistency, quality and presentation across every service.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up.
• Experience working in an upmarket restaurant or hotel kitchen.
• Excellent culinary skills and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• A positive, hands-on approach with the ability to perform under pressure.
• Good knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Passion for fresh, seasonal produce and quality cooking.
