Red D are recruiting an experienced Meetings & Events Operations Manager for a 5 Star Luxury Hotel in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional with strong conference and banqueting experience to join a leading Food & Beverage operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of meetings and events, ensuring exceptional service standards, seamless execution and outstanding guest experiences.
Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Meetings & Events Operations Manager will lead the Meetings & Events Operations team, manage event delivery, support revenue growth and ensure all events are delivered to the highest standards.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced events environment.
Key Responsibilities
Meetings & Events Operations
- Manage the daily operations of the Meetings & Events department, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Lead, motivate and support the Meetings & Events Operations team.
- Ensure all meetings and events are delivered to exceptional standards in line with hotel procedures.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless event execution.
- Ensure all event requirements are communicated clearly and accurately to relevant teams.
- Oversee room set-ups, service standards, equipment requirements and guest requests.
- Maintain a proactive approach to guest service, ensuring a personalised and professional experience.
- Conduct regular inspections of meeting and event facilities to ensure excellent presentation and standards.
Guest Experience & Service Standards
- Ensure guests receive a welcoming, efficient and personalised service experience.
- Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements where required.
- Ensure all team members understand and deliver agreed service standards.
- Resolve guest requests and issues professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, organisers and internal departments.
Sales & Revenue Support
- Support the Meetings & Events Sales team in maximising revenue opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Identify and communicate sales opportunities and client feedback.
- Support promotions and initiatives designed to increase Meetings & Events revenue.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing and service standards.
Financial & Stock Management
- Manage departmental costs in line with agreed budgets.
- Prepare staff rosters based on business levels and operational requirements.
- Monitor overtime and staffing costs.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure effective stock rotation.
- Complete regular inventories of equipment, glassware and supplies.
- Ensure all equipment and services are accurately recorded and controlled.
- Maintain strong financial controls across payments, stock and purchasing procedures.
Leadership & Team Development
- Train, coach and develop Meetings & Events team members.
- Ensure all team members are fully briefed on upcoming events.
- Prepare departmental communications, briefings and meetings.
- Support recruitment, selection and onboarding of new team members.
- Work closely with Human Resources on performance management, training, mentoring and employee development.
- Encourage teamwork and collaboration across all departments.
- Maintain high standards of presentation, professionalism and conduct.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all Meetings & Events operations comply with hotel policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
- Conduct regular inspections of conference and banqueting areas.
- Report maintenance issues, defects, hazards or equipment concerns.
- Ensure health, safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
- Ensure the team follows fire safety, licensing and emergency procedures.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, appearance and presentation across all areas.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in Meetings & Events, Conference & Banqueting or Food & Beverage operations.
- Experience managing events within a luxury hotel or high-quality hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a busy environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of revenue and cost control.
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
