General Manager – Large 4-Star Hotel, Dublin

Red D are recruiting an experienced General Manager for a large, busy 4-star hotel in Dublin.

We’re looking for an established Hotel General Manager who enjoys running a busy operation, leading a strong management team and taking full responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of the hotel.

Working closely with ownership, you’ll have the autonomy to lead the business, make decisions and shape its future direction. You’ll need to be commercially sharp, comfortable with the numbers and highly visible across the hotel, with a strong understanding of both Rooms and Food & Beverage.

This is a senior General Manager role for someone who knows how to get the best from their team, understands what drives hotel performance and keeps the guest experience firmly at the centre of the operation.

The Role

As General Manager, you will:

• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation, commercial performance and financial results of the hotel.
• Lead, support and develop the Heads of Department, creating a strong management team with clear accountability.
• Maintain consistently high standards across Rooms, Food & Beverage, service and guest experience.
• Take ownership of the hotel P&L, annual budgets, forecasting, payroll and cost management.
• Work closely with the revenue, sales and commercial teams to maximise occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and overall hotel revenue.
• Review business performance regularly, identify opportunities and take action where improvements are needed.
• Work closely with ownership on strategy, business planning, investment and the ongoing development of the hotel.
• Lead annual budgeting and capital expenditure planning.
• Drive profitability while ensuring operational and service standards are maintained.
• Lead hotel projects including renovations, capital works and operational improvements.
• Maintain a strong presence throughout the hotel, building good relationships with guests, colleagues, corporate clients and key stakeholders.
• Recruit, mentor and develop senior managers and support succession planning across the business.
• Ensure the hotel operates in full compliance with all relevant legal, fire, health and safety and regulatory requirements.

What We’re Looking For

This role requires an established Hotel General Manager with proven experience leading a large, busy hotel operation.

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience as a Hotel General Manager.
• A strong background within a large 4-star or comparable full-service hotel.
• Strong operational experience across both Rooms and Food & Beverage.
• Excellent financial knowledge including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, payroll and cost control.
• Strong commercial awareness and a good understanding of hotel revenue management.
• Experience leading, developing and getting the best from a substantial management team.
• The confidence and judgement to work closely with ownership and key stakeholders.
• A strong track record in guest experience and maintaining high operational standards.
• Experience of renovations, repositioning or significant hotel projects would be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of hotel management and operating systems.
