Business Development Manager | Workplace Dining | Hybrid
If you know how to win business, build strong client relationships and love the world of food and hospitality, this is a Business Development Manager opportunity worth looking at.
Red D are recruiting for a leading workplace dining and hospitality business with an impressive track record of growth in Ireland. You’ll be joining an established, high-performing commercial team that has consistently delivered against ambitious growth targets.
This is a role where you’ll have the backing to win. You’ll work alongside experienced culinary, operations, bid, marketing, finance and commercial teams to develop workplace dining solutions that are creative, commercially strong and deliverable.
As Business Development Manager, you’ll take the lead in identifying and developing new opportunities across Ireland, building relationships with prospective clients and converting those relationships into long-term business.
We’re looking for someone who can open doors and develop opportunities, but who is equally comfortable sitting down with a client, understanding what they’re trying to achieve and bringing the right people together to create a solution.
A background in workplace dining or contract catering would be highly relevant, but we’re also interested in strong hospitality sales professionals who understand food, service and the importance of the customer experience.
This is a hybrid role with some travel across Ireland and comes with an excellent salary, benefits package, company car and commission structure.
The Role
Business Development & Growth
- Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across the public and private sectors in Ireland
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of strategic prospects
- Develop relationships with prospective clients and key decision-makers
- Identify cross-selling and growth opportunities within existing client relationships
- Contribute to client retention and renewal activity
- Develop a strong understanding of the Irish workplace dining and hospitality market, including competitors, trends and emerging opportunities
- Represent the business at relevant industry events, networking opportunities and client engagements
Developing Client Solutions
The Business Development Manager will work closely with culinary and operational teams to turn a client’s requirements into a commercially strong and engaging proposition.
You will:
- Develop tailored workplace dining and hospitality solutions
- Work with culinary experts and operational teams to create compelling food and service concepts
- Lead client meetings, presentations, workshops and site visits
- Understand each client’s priorities, challenges and commercial objectives
- Demonstrate how food, hospitality and employee experiences can contribute to workplace culture and wellbeing
- Translate customer needs into commercially viable solutions that can be delivered successfully
Bids & Proposals
- Lead and support bid activity for workplace dining and hospitality contracts across Ireland
- Work closely with Bid Management, Marketing, Commercial, Legal, Finance and Operations
- Help produce high-quality tender submissions, proposals and client presentations
- Support the Integrated Facilities Management Business Development Manager where food and hospitality form part of a wider IFM proposal
- Occasionally contribute to European or global opportunities where Ireland forms part of a wider client solution
Pipeline & Commercial Management
- Maintain an accurate and active pipeline within the CRM system
- Keep opportunity plans, client intelligence and business development activity up to date
- Use market and pipeline information to support forecasting and growth planning
- Manage multiple opportunities and stakeholders at different stages of the business development process
What We’re Looking For
This role could suit someone already working in business development within workplace catering, contract catering or hospitality, or an experienced hospitality sales professional ready to move into a broader business development role.
You should bring:
- Strong business development, sales, commercial or growth experience
- A genuine interest in food, hospitality and workplace experiences
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and confidence discussing client requirements and solutions
- The ability to understand what matters to a prospective client rather than relying on a standard sales proposition
- Experience managing multiple opportunities, projects and stakeholders
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence using CRM systems and managing a disciplined sales pipeline
- The ability to work collaboratively with culinary, operations, finance, marketing, commercial and bid teams
- Flexibility to travel within Ireland when required
Experience within workplace dining, contract catering, foodservice or hospitality / hotels would be particularly valuable.
Why Consider This Business Development Manager Role?
You’ll be joining a business that already has a strong team and a successful track record of growth.
You’ll work alongside experienced Business Development Managers, bid professionals, culinary specialists, marketing and creative teams, operational leaders and commercial, finance and legal colleagues.
The Business Development Manager isn’t expected to win business in isolation. You’ll have access to the people and expertise needed to understand a client’s brief and build a solution that is both commercially sound and operationally deliverable.
The successful person will be commercially driven, naturally good with people and genuinely interested in food and hospitality. You’ll enjoy developing relationships over time and have the confidence to lead conversations with senior decision-makers.
Most importantly, you’ll know that winning the contract is only part of the job. What has been promised to the client has to work in practice.
This is a hybrid position offering an excellent salary, benefits package, company car and commission structure. Some travel across Ireland will be required.
We can only consider candidates with full, unrestricted permission to live and work in the EU.
UK passport holders are also welcome to apply.
