Red D are recruiting a Meetings & Events Sales Manager for a four star hotel in Kilkenny.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced hotel sales professional who enjoys winning business, building client relationships and turning enquiries into confirmed events.

The Meetings & Events Sales Manager will take a proactive approach to growing meetings, conferences, corporate events, private functions and group business. There’s already an established events operation, but the focus here is very much on sales, developing new accounts, looking after existing clients and maximising the value of every booking.

Working closely with the Sales & Marketing Manager and wider hotel team, you’ll manage the sales journey from initial enquiry and proposal through to confirmation and a clear operational handover.

The Role

• Proactively generate new meetings, conference and events business
• Develop relationships with corporate clients, local businesses, event organisers and agencies
• Manage incoming enquiries and convert opportunities into confirmed bookings
• Prepare proposals, quotations, packages and contracts
• Conduct hotel and event space viewings with prospective clients
• Develop existing accounts and encourage repeat and referral business
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurate forecasts
• Maximise revenue across event spaces, bedrooms, food and beverage and private dining
• Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across the hotel
• Work closely with operational teams to ensure an accurate handover of confirmed events
• Support the dedicated Wedding Manager with enquiries, viewings and sales activity during busy periods
• Represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows and relevant local business events
• Monitor sales activity, conversion and performance against agreed targets

The Person

You’ll ideally have previous experience in hotel sales, meetings and events, conference sales or a similar hospitality sales role.

You’ll be commercially minded, comfortable developing new business and confident managing clients through the complete sales process. Strong communication, negotiation and closing skills are important, along with the organisation needed to manage multiple enquiries and events at the same time.

Experience within the Irish hotel market and knowledge of CRM, PMS or event management systems would be an advantage.
